Accident / Damage Policy

At UD Car Rent, every vehicle is delivered in excellent condition.
When you rent with us, you agree to return the vehicle in substantially the same condition,
subject to normal wear and tear.

Responsibility for Damages

If the vehicle is returned with new damage, scratches, dents or other chargeable damage,
the renter is responsible for the applicable damage amount,
subject to the included
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
and its maximum liability for covered accidental damage.

For covered accidental damage, the maximum renter liability is
10,000 THB per covered incident for sedans and
15,000 THB per covered incident for pickups, SUVs and 7-seaters.
If the applicable assessed damage is lower than the CDW maximum,
the renter pays the lower applicable amount.

Minor Surface Marks

We aim to minimise unnecessary repair charges.
If a mark appears superficial, our team will attempt professional polishing or buffing.
If the mark can be removed and no repair is required,
no damage charge applies.

Repairs & Damage Liability

If damage remains after inspection or polishing,
the vehicle may require professional repair.
Damage-related charges are based on the vehicle’s actual condition,
documented assessment or repair cost where applicable,
and the applicable rental terms.

Where a reference damage charge is published or provided,
it is a guideline only and is not an automatic penalty.
Normal wear and tear is not charged.

Optional Extra Protection (SCDW)

Optional
Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
reduces renter liability for
covered accidental damage to 0 THB,
subject to the rental terms and exclusions.

Sedans: 250 THB/day
Pickups, SUVs & 7-seaters:
350 THB/day

Important Exclusions

CDW/SCDW may not apply to prohibited or excluded situations such as
drunk or reckless driving, unauthorized drivers, racing, off-road use,
use outside permitted areas, flood-related damage, negligence,
interior damage, accessories, cleaning charges and other exclusions
stated in the rental terms.

How Damage Liability Works

Example 1 — Minor Covered Damage

Assessed covered repair cost:
3,000 THB

Renter liability under CDW:
3,000 THB

Example 2 — Larger Sedan Damage

Assessed covered repair cost:
30,000 THB

Maximum renter liability under CDW:
10,000 THB

Example 3 — With SCDW

Eligible covered accidental damage

Renter liability:

0 THB

Examples apply to
covered accidental damage only.
Liability may differ where exclusions, prohibited use, negligence
or other rental terms apply.
